Tomato Products
Nowadays food manufacturing industries are bombarding messages of health benefits of their products including tomato products. The diet with natural balance of nutrients from a variety of vegetables, fruits and efficient cooking method is necessary for us from the very early life stage to adulthood and to old age for balanced nourishment and to reduce the chance of several life threatening diseases.
Among the vegetables and fruits, consumption of tomato products prevents or delays the incidence of the life threatening diseases such as heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, certain cancers, osteoporosis and many other health problems. Since tomato fruits have several nutrients and they are indispensable and very beneficial for human body system. Many scientific research papers reflected the benefits of intake of the tomato fruits in processed or cooked forms.
In the long history of human efforts of improving the processing of the tomato fruits to turn the tomato fruit into canned tomato products, people have developed a variety of quality canned tomato products. As the result, the tomato products are available in very high quality forms in the market. Research works and processing industries made tomato fruits available throughout the year. For instance: availability of canned whole or halved tomato fruits made the year round consumption of high quality tomato fruits possible.
Besides the canned tomato fruits, there are other processed tomato products. They are tomato juice, tomato sauce, tomato ketchup, tomato salsa, tomato paste, tomato puree. People generally buy and consume these products and I too advise to consume tomato products. Nowadays people are becoming very aware of the taking organic vegetables and they avoid taking canned vegetable products. It does not true understand that processed tomato vegetables including tomato products are harmful to us. The processing industries do not add harmful chemicals to can the processed vegetable products. For example: canned tomato fruits include citric acids or lemon juice, tomato juice and very few calcium salts. They don’t add chemicals that harm us.
