Tomato for Man Health
Tomato fruit products are rich in lycopene. It is beta-carotene and red coloring bio-substance. In addition to it, the tomato fruit also contain some other vitamins and minerals. Lycopene and all the constituents of the tomato fruits and the products of it have beneficial effects to lower the risk of prostrate cancer among the men.
By the way, prostrate gland is an organ of walnut size located in the region of urethra in the men. The urethra is a pipe that carries urine from the urinary bladder to the penis. The prostrate gland produces fluid for semen. Let us come to the main point. Prostrate gland cancer is the most common cancer among the men in the United States and Canada.
Prostrate cancer is the second most common death cause disease whereas lung cancer is the first most common cause of the death in the countries of the USA and Canada. About 230,000 new cases in the men are diagnosed as prostrate cancer each year in the USA; it is the estimate of American Cancer Society. Among them; 27,000 men die because of the prostrate cancer. Out of 20,000 men detected as the victim of prostrate cancer each year; 20,000 die each year because of cancer in Canada. It is the estimate of Canadian Cancer Society.
A few studies were done in ten European countries on the relationship of tomato intake in the form of lycopene content and risk of cardiovascular disease in men. One of the principal research findings of the study was that the men with high content of lycopene presence in their fat tissue were less likely to produce the cardiovascular disease. It was about 48 % reduction in the development of the cardiovascular disease in the men who had high content of lycopene in their fat tissues.
A few researches were also done on the lycopene concentration in bloods serum of men. One of the research findings was that the low lycopene concentration in the blood serum had three times more chances of acute coronary events such as heart attack and stroke than the men with the high lycopene concentration in their blood serum. One of the principal constituents of tomato is lycopene. In other words, red ripe tomato fruit is popular for lycopene, many minerals and vitamins.
